Robert Emerick - Pastor
Robert is a Commissioned Ruling Elder (CRE), an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA), who has received special training and is authorized to lead worship, administer the sacraments, perform weddings and funerals, and provide pastoral care to a particular congregation. A bi-vocational pastor, Robert is also the full-time Director of Business Growth with REV Birmingham.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Robert moved to Birmingham in 1994. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio and received CRE training from Dubuque Theological Seminary. He has three grown children, five grandchildren, and has been married to Katherine Chipman, a graphic designer turned high school math teacher, since 2016.
Dr. Naomi Brown, PhD - Pianist and Organist
Naomi is also multi-vocational. Since 2001, she has shared her extraordinary musical talents with RPC as pianist, organist and sometime choir director. In addition, she has taught private piano lessons for over 31 years to students of all ages and is a Certified Travel Agent, specializing in developing experiences for foreign, independent travelers to her native Japan. Dr. Brown holds a BA in Music, Piano Performance from Emory and Henry College, a MA in Music, Piano Performance from Illinois State University, and a Doctoral of Musical Arts, Piano Performance, from Louisiana State University.
