Worship

At RPC, worship is liturgical (we have an order of worship and sing from hymnals), grounded in the traditions of the Reformed church. And while we celebrate and value our traditions, as people who are “reformed and always reforming,” we also believe our worship should be creative and relevant to the challenges of Christians living in their particular time and place.

We celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of every month (modified for the time being due to COVID-19) and other holy days with bread (we offer a gluten-free option), juice and wine.

Health and Safety Information:

During COVID-19, most of the Riverchase Presbyterian community is worshipping with us online. However, if you would like to join us in-person, please know the following measures in place for everyone’s protection.

Worship during COVID-19:

  • Masks are to be worn at all times in the building (if you forget yours, we’ll happily provide a disposable);

  • Non-family groups are separated by at least 10 feet;

  • We are humming along to hymns (behind our masks) instead of singing;

  • Communion is served on/in individual, disposable plates and cups by a masked and gloved elder

  • Fellowship gatherings before and after the service have been suspended until further notice

What to Wear:

Some of us wear coats and ties and some wear jeans and sandals. Whatever your preference, come as you and come comfortable.

Church is for introverts, too!
We know it can be pretty intimidating to visit a new church. And while it might seem counterintuitive that a small church can be a good fit for those of us who prefer to slip in and sit in the back row the first few times, we think you'll find RPC is "introvert friendly." Truth is, there are lots of us here. Yes, we’re going to say hello, let you know we’re glad you’re here, and invite you back, but we promise not to be pushy about it.  A great way to check us out is to join us for worship on Facebook Live! We’re there every Sunday morning at 10:15am.
